Last year, my research was mainly focused on bio-psychology and neurology; however, after taking a trip to Project Oceanology in Connecticut with the ASR class, my interests changed completely. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by the ocean and marine life. Yet, I never truly understood how to incorporate this specific field of science through research work. It wasn’t until one researcher at Project Oceanology mentioned how oysters have been disappearing from the Hudson over the past few years. I began thinking about how the removal of an organism from its natural habitat can effect the entire Hudson Ecosystem. I began researching about this topic and was completely amazed with how researchers are trying to reintroduce oysters into the Hudson.
