Mahy Elaskandrany is a Junior attending Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics and is currently in her second year of the Advanced Science Research Program (ASR). ASR is a prestigious three-year college level research program specifically designed for high school students with strong interests in science and math. Through this program students develop literature research and grant writing skills with the help of the instructor, Charlene Chan, and collaborating scientists. Students also learn to read scientific papers, write grant proposals, and convert science interests into research projects.
